I met Cathy at the Riveresque Cafe on Leeds Bridge for a consultation one lunch time and we clicked instantly. When I asked, what it was that made them want me as their wedding photographer, she said it was actually the image of Tom & Lee from Burton Grange Farmhouse B&B in York (with that beautiful blonde horse) that she loved most.
Family is huge for these two, so I knew from the start their boys Aiden and Leon would be front and centre. So, it was only right that throughout our discussions, we made sure they joined us for Cathy & Stuarts Engagement photography session in the summer before their big day. The engagement session is really all about you. It not only provides you with some gorgeous images of yourselves, but it’s a chance for us to really connect ahead of the day!
Fast forward a couple of months to July 20th, 2019 and it’s time to say ‘I do’! Catherine got ready in one of the lovely suites at Weetwood Hall Estate with Mum and wonderful bridesmaid Geraldine. The ladies got ready with Leeds based Hair & Make-up Artist: Louise Fawcett. She created a couple of lovely updo’s that would last these ladies from morning until night! It was my first time working with Louise for Cathy’s day, but she was an absolute dream to be around! Something I always try to have with my is a pretty hanger for dress shots, this beautiful lace one from Akito Avalanche Bespoke Wedding Hangers worked wonderfully.
Cathy’s dress was chosen from Wed2Be in Leeds, which she paired with some simply stunning pieces including jewellery passed through the family, which is a wonderful way to keep everyone with you on the day. J’adore by Dior was her fragrance of choice. I can’t recommend this enough by the way, find a scent you love - something you already wear or a new one - and wear it for your wedding day or have it in your flowers. Every time you smell that scent, it will remind you of your wedding day! The ladies where then whisked off to Cookridge Hall, Leeds by Bay Executive & Wedding Car Hire, to start their ceremony where Stuart and all their family and friends where waiting. Some travelling from Scotland, others as far as the Philippines to spend this special day together.
Stuart, Aiden, Leon and the rest of grooms party wore matching suits from Slaters Menswear and button holes which matched the decor & styling (all by Kookai Decor) perfectly. Cookridge Hall provided such a stunning backdrop for their wedding day - whilst it is part of the Bantyre Health Club, you have your own beautiful outdoor space which is amazing for the kids running around and the conservatory is a blank canvas for you to decorate as you wish! Beth and the coordinator team here are wonderful, effeminately worth having a chat if you haven’t found your perfect place yet. The ceremony room was filled to the brim with guests, love and the occasional button hole mishap. Catherine followed Aiden, Leon and Geraldine down the aisle, which both Mum & Papa walked her down.
After the ceremony, came the official ‘Welcome Drinks’, time for stories and some family formals. Cathy and Stuart took the opportunity a little after speeches to leave the party - go spend time with the kids and Catherine got into the 2nd of 3 dresses for the evening - GORGEOUS! The guests still had a fantastic time and enjoyed themselves through to the evening.
Silhouette cake was designed by Dainty Delights Designer Wedding Cakes in Huddersfield, favours where by the epic Fudge Kitchen and evening entertainment was by the wonderful Scott and team at PhotoBomb - Amazing photobooths! Cathy and Stuart simply wanted to share their special day with the people they loved, in a way that meant everyone had fun. From the photobooth, to the candy cart and Cathy’s wedding trainers…the only thing left to do was dance! THANK YOU for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day! Mr & Mrs Hugget - I am one incredibly honoured and thankful wedding photographer.
