Mandy & Chris | The Old Barn at Esholt, Yorkshire
Having met Mandy & Chris several months before their wedding day, I had the wonderful experience of getting to know them and learning what their day was all about. (This is actually one of my favourite parts in the lead up to a Wedding). There was a debate about whether or not the pooch would make an appearance, laughs about all the things that could go wrong and a simple notion that they simply wanted to share their love for each other...with those that loved them most.
The Engagement Session is where I truly got to know how Mandy & Chris wanted to be photographed. We originally planned to to hold their Leeds Engagement Session in the Christmas Markets. However, true to Yorkshire weather, it tipped it down with rain and we ended up heading inside to the nearby Cote Brassiere in the Trinity for a cuppa and a touch of French style. It was very clear that they simply wanted the day documenting.
Getting Ready for the day ahead was done with a traditional element...the boys got ready together at their home and the girls chose to get ready close to the venue at The Highfield Hotel, Bradford. Both Mandy & Chris kept this part private with their chosen parties, but I did pop in to see Mandy and the lovely ladies to get a few detail shots before leaving them to enjoy the morning over a few glasses of bubbly. The details on Mandy's JJsHouse dress was simply stunning and match her Quiz shoes wonderfully.
Arriving in Style was always the plan with a beautiful vintage car set to transport them to their beautiful venue, The Old Barn at Esholt in Shipley, West Yorkshire.
The Ceremony started promptly just after Mandy arrived. The venue was decorated with various shades of her favourite colour purple. From the bows on the chairs, details on the tables and bouquets to the gents ties and bridesmaid dresses. Today was simply about them. The Ceremony Room was covered in fairy lights that wrapped around the beams and it made for some beautiful images.
The First Kiss was, well, everything you'd expect. The moment that everything changes yet nothing is different. The significance of knowing this kiss is the first of many as Mr & Mrs Godding.
The Reception & speeches were everything that was intended...fun, intimate, plenty of shots, laughs and a little surprise. There is always a slight sigh of relief that everything is done and you're now officially married.
...with a surprise honeymoon to New York!
The Cake and decor was made by family and friends as part of their wedding gift. Purples and Butterflies throughout. So much time and care was spent on individually handmade menu cards and napkin holders.
And then they dance... sharing the rest of the evening with their loved ones, friends and family. Congratulations on your beautiful day and here's a couple of extra of my favourites.
